Seattle has a marvelous defense and good team speed and is young and aggressive and confident and nobody can doubt that they're the best team in football today. And their defense would have been formidable even against Denver's best.
A wonderful team.
That having been said, it was a profoundly bad football game. Denver played worse than anyone has ever played in a Superbowl, already a game with a history of a lot of blowouts.
Horrible special teams. Horrible defense. And an offensive line that seemed to hear about the snap a second after everyone else. Runners and receivers with a general disinterest in advancing the ball. Manning seemed somewhat interested in playing but he has lost a lot of arm strength and the protection was so bad that he couldn't step into anything, and thus looked like he was shot-putting a cinder block half the time. (While setting an ironic superbowl record for pass completions with about 35)
Never seen anything so sad. Has to be ranked as the worst superbowl ever.
Much as with boxing, the worst for fans is when one side doesn't show up. It isn't fair to the fans or the opposition.
