If I could have only one Constitutional amendment, it would not be to overrule Citizens United, which is about getting votes by spending big bucks.


It would be that every vote of the House and Senate regarding legislation (as opposed to a housekeeping matter, like adjournment) had to be with yeas and nays and had to be by majority vote. And yeas and nays had to be made easily available on the web where everyone knows to look. (Sorry, Thomas. gov. is like trying to find something blindfolded. It is the one and only place on the net where I can know the name of a bill and the date it passed and still not find the yeas and nays.) And then lets see if some slick speeches and TV ads still determine the outcomes of elections.

And yes, I do understand what that kind of Constitutional amendment would mean if Democrats were in the minority.


This will of a majority of USians is supposed to be ruling Congress, not the Republican minority or the Democratic minority
