The problem with fracking [View all]

is that most don't recognize the dangers of it. To me, the science behind isn't definitive and the risks are way too high for such a small reward. The potential to contaminate water sources that are safe for human consumption are sky high. For those unaware water from unconfined aquifers, lakes and rivers are considered contaminated. Thus, it requires a lot more money to treat such water as a result. However confined aquifers have water that isn't necessary to go through such extensive treatments. It has become cost effective to finally obtain water from confined aquifers in the modern era. But with the hard push for fracking we are in danger of contaminating even the few sources of good water we have in the confined aquifers.

The horror stories that I have heard from others about what they use to fill in what they extract from fracking would disturb any human being. And the worst part of all is how do you track these substances as they traverse under the terrain?
