(7,699 posts)it's a tankless heater and the pilot is lit using the energy from water flow. So if the pipes
aren't frozen, we will still have hot water without power.
I buy everything I can on sale (why should I pay full price??) and keep the freezer full.
I've got enough roast beef, chicken and turkey breast cooked to last for a week; it can
just be thawed and eaten cold. I should cook some potatoes I guess in potato-salad-like chunks
for a starch. We have salad stuff. And tuna.
I usually have about 3-6 months worth of toilet paper because I buy it at the price where when I buy
three, the fourth is free.
We're due for possibly 8-12 inches here in York Pa, and we still have snow on the ground from January 21.
Today was the first day I saw any of the grass on the front lawn, and that was just about 1/4 inch of the
sidewalk edge and in a few footprints.
We still have a 2'x7' wall of ice at the bottom of the driveway thanks to the snow plow that came through
in the middle of the night...when it comes in the daytime, I rush right out and move the pile, but this
time it froze solid and hasn't melted much. If this happens again we are going to be pretty well sealed in!
