In reply to the discussion: As an 18 year Time Warner subscriber, what can I expect from Comcast? Spare no details. [View all]Notafraidtoo
(402 posts)65. The hoopla is
That Monopoly's have always been historically bad for consumers and markets, consider that Comcast will have no real competition meaning they wont need to offer competitive prices. They will be able to drop content that was expensive to them but pulled customers from their competition.
They will have significantly more power over internet content from providers like Netflix, Amazon, Xbox, Hulu ect, pretty much all internet Content providers, they are going to make things less intuitive and slow for us young folk who watch TV through the internet.
You will notice a difference in the future, economics 101 cut cost, service and raise prices when their is no threat of losing market share.

Good to hear you kept your power. As an adult do you enjoy the Harry Potter movies? Just curious

I never had a problem, either. I had great customer service, over the phone and in person.

Both are slow, horrible internet services. But monopolies lead to higher prices.
