In reply to the discussion: Hillary Clinton Advice For Young Women: ‘Grow Skin Like A Rhinoceros’ [View all]sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)46. Supporting brutal invasions of other people's countries is not supporting women's
rights. See what happened to the women of Iraq eg, once educated with equal pay for equal work, free to wear whatever they wanted, now afraid to go out of their homes for a walk, let alone go to work. Millions of them are now living in refugee camps, hundreds of thousands more have lost their babies, their husbands, their parents.
Has she ever addressed the rape of Iraqi and Afghan women by US troops, in Abu Ghraib and elsewhere?
Words, I judge people by their actions, not their words. As a lifelong supporter of women's rights, I could never support illegal invasions of other countries as I know what that does to everyone, but women become particularly vulnerable when we break down their infrastructure.

I agree, they would be appalled at the corporatism that has taken over the Dem Party.

"gentlemanly respect for the fairer sex" isn't respect at all. It's condescension.
