This Gender War bullshit at DU must stop

308. I'm a feminist and am not at 'war' with anyone. Maybe that's why people, including most of DU's

women who don't even try to engage this small group anymore, either avoid any discussion of women's issues here or if they do try to engage, are required to totally agree with that group. The view that there is a progressive 'war' against their small numbers.

There isn't, there are differences of opinion which most women seem able to discuss elsewhere, not on DU apparently, without going to WAR over every little word or phrase THEY find offensive.

I find WAR offensive, our actual wars which are destroying women around the world. The trivia that is considered 'war' here on DU by this small group, is harming women who have far more important issues to worry about than what I see here being treated as if it was on the same level as the rape of women in the military, of Iraq women in our prisons or in their own homes, eg.

If you want to be taken seriously, then set priorities in terms of what should garner this kind of attention, but what I have seen here isn't it.

As a woman though, I do not want people to think that what is going on here is representative of women in general, it is not.
