Classic use of distraction. While the media was paying attention, the Kremlin and its Ukrainian partners played nice. And as soon as we were watching bobsledding and such, they started killing people, figuring that fewer reporters would be available to cover the bloodshed.

Just like the Georgia conflict during the Beijing Olympics.
