four or five women, standing alone, not part of a crowd, simply trying to play music in the street?

I guess the cossacks' "kicking 'em when they're down" bit and the hair pulling and arm-wrenching sorta make up for their insufficiency with the whip, is that it?

-- lots of it -- for the irony impaired.

I'll really need some video of that if I'm to believe that accusation. And it better not be video of long dead policeman, culled from sixty year old news footage. And it better not be part of massive demonstrations, either. I want to see some video of 21st Century US police whipping young women for trying to play music in the square....and I'll bet there ain't any in any archive.

I am flummoxed at the frantic desperation that is popping up in this thread--Putin's brutes are behaving in an unacceptable fashion. And people on this thread are trying like hell to distract from that by saying "Waaah--America has had bad cops TOOOOOO!" That's NOT an excuse!

Hell, might as well go with "Leave Pootie alone!" That'll fly just as well as the "Look over here" game...which no one is buying.
