The bit I agree with is about tradition and the Sports Illustrated thing. I agree that it won't last much longer and will go the way of the dinosaurs...

The bit I'm bemused about, and I'm speaking as a woman here, is why the hell you'd walk through fire or jump off buildings for me when you don't even know me? Don't get me wrong. If you've got the urge to do it, there's this former manager of mine at work who peeves me no end, and next time they're talking bullshit at me I reckon it'd be awesome if I could raise my hand and go 'Hold on right there. Before you say anything else, I've got Will Pitt flown in directly from the US to walk through a pit of burning coals for me to back up what I'm saying, and if yr not convinced after that, he's going to catch the lift up to the rooftop and jump off it JUST FOR ME!!!!' And after watching you do it and cleaning up the mess, coz after all jumping off the top of the building I work in would leave a bit of a mess, no-one will ever fuck around with me again!

I'm just sad that the walking through fire and jumping off a building is a one-off, no repeats kind of thing, coz I was just thinking there's this woman who lives in the townhouse across the road from me who's really pissing me off, and next time she has a whine at the owners committee that I'm on about something petty, it would have been awesome to dig a firepit and get you to walk across it for me.
