Frank Luntz Ditching Politics for a Sports TV Gig [View all]
Last we heard from GOP pollster extraordinaire Frank Luntz, he was “depressed” about the 2012 electoral loss and dissatisfied with politics in general. At the time, he indicated he’d like to break into Hollywood. While that plan hasn’t exactly panned out, it looks like he’ll escape politics after all: As a sports analyst.
According to a press release, Luntz has joined Fox Sports 1, an upstart 24/7 sports network, as an “exclusive sports communications analyst.” He will primarily appear during Fox Sports Live, the channel’s flagship primetime show.
During that show, Luntz will host a segment called “Sound Off,” which will bring back the pollster’s beloved “focus groups” with audience members discussing their opinions on a range of sports topics.
His first topic airs tonight and will ask the question: “If you were an NFL GM, would you draft Michael Sam?”
The statement quotes Luntz as saying: “There is a right way and a wrong way to communicate to viewers, fans and players, and I plan to bring analysis and accountability to the language of sports and those who play them.
