i seem to recall that a child born of an American citizen, no matter where in the world that child is born, is an American citizen by default until the age of 18; when they have the option to choose between being a citizen of the US or the country of their birth or go for dual citizenship.

So unless I got it really, really wrong back in 5th grade the Birthers have no legal ground to stand on unless Obama's mother wasn't an American citizen.

Why does this even continue to be an issue...he's been President for 3 years already!
