(14,912 posts)in detail, the exact difference between a woman clutching her purse tighter and/or moving across the street when she sees a big, burly, white biker looking guy, who have stereotypical bad reputations, walking towards her and doing the exact same thing when she sees a black man walking towards her. I'll patiently wait for an intelligent response from you, as I know you're capable of one.
What you NEED to understand is the fact that I am NOT DENYING there is ingrained racism in some people. I'm simply showing that there is also an ingrained perception of some people too, regardless of skin color. It's an ingrained fear in some people due to stereotypes.
Once you can understand that, reconcile it with yourself and live with both opinions.. that there is both racism *and* ingrained fear due to stereotypes, you can work on your own cognitive dissonace.
