NY, Chicago and Miami are different; so are Boston and Philadelphia, but they all have gang violence problems and a big problem is the fact that gang members shoot at each other and sometimes they get killed. Typically, they are young people which is unfortunate - they've missed out on what might have been a long and wonderful life. The root cause of this problem is, among other things, the low value that is placed on human life, not the access to firearms. For that reason, I believe the solution to gang violence is unrelated to gun control.
Frequently, gun control advocates cite casualty statistics for young people involving firearms and included in the numbers are victims of gang violence, a fact that is never pointed out. That is intellectually dishonest which is the reason I've posted on the issue.
