France does not provide homeowner,rental,auto insurance. Those are purely private systems.

Of course, they are regulated, but so are they in the US. and yes, there are subsidized housing and transportation, but they do exist in the States as well, though may be less. Amazing how some people are ignorant when they want.

As for the health insurance system, it is not really a state run system (as in England, for example). It is run by a collaboration between government, labor elected representatives and management elected representatives.
