Parents: The difference between Trayvon's and mine. [View all]

My Father was a man-child who found his calling working with cartoons. (which BTW gave me the veritas to have as my friends Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too and Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Eeyore, though he can't imagine a friend of such a sad little donkey)

My Mother was a simple working housewife. It wasn't till she retired that she became a hero to the poor, those without transportation and seniors as an appointed official of the City Of Burbank. Where she died in her 26th year of service.

I have been impressed by the courage, the eloquence, and the passion for justice of Trayvon's parents.

There are two differences between my parents and his:

One is the color of their skin.

The other is my parent's son survived them.

There is a great ache in my heart every time I see them speak because I know my parents would do the same thing ....for me.
