(20,453 posts)Yes, you do.Your renters don't have a home. No renter will have privacy if you are their landlord. It might be nice if you mention this in the renter's agreement.
Were you to rent to me in my younger days, I'd have kept a clean apartment, worked, made vegetarian dishes, which, if you lived below me, I'd had loved share with you. I might assure myself that if I ever wanted to smoke, it would have been a decision pretty much like wanting a glass of wine. Not the mind police.
I surely would not let you on to this, and nothing I did would let you on to it, unless you walked in and pilfered through my personal things.
You would wouldn't see stuff like empty bottle and beer cans, which if I did have anything recyclable , would be in it's proper bin. But, had I been a beer drinker or boozer, I'd have a few stains to leave behind from when I was drunk, and when my "friends" might have vomited after imbibing.
I'm pretty sure I was never loud from parties, since I never was a big drinker. However, since I was a something else in my much younger days, there would be Pink Floyd, Beatles, Frank Zappa or Firesign Theater.
Of course, I would never think of driving anyone in your family anywhere after smoking. Who really needs to do this?
