(25 posts)Well, there were, but they grew up and moved out. They're two of the most well-rounded, well-educated, fun people I know. Both got bachelors' degrees so far (from Iowa State & Webster Univ. in St. Louis) and are doing fine. I'm their dad, and I participated in their education, taking 5 years off work in the 80s & 90s to do that, and I'm sure we're closer than we would have been otherwise. Their native curiosity was not curbed, ever. And we're delighted to support the local school district - wouldn't want to live in a country full of uneducated, or poorly educated people. That's where your tea-types come from. Religion is ok, but as for me, I think it's a means of self-hypnosis, a way to scare your kids into line, a form of marketing career, or an Amway-type networking method when you've lost your gig.
