The officer dropped immediately and lay completely motionless save for gravity slightly rolling him, for quite some time. In addition to an appreciation of the dangers officers face on these 'routine' traffic stops, I have a better appreciation why the Supreme Court determined that deadly force is authorized in a high speed pursuit. Just look at all the motorists that this murderer endangered.
