17. I know - I'm a mule hauling the caisson into battle. I'll do what needs to be done until I drop.

It's just that when there are periods of pauses, waiting for something to either break or go forward in the battle, it's hard not to reflect on what lies ahead and that can get very depressing.
Especially when there's people who depend on you, and they don't seem to be able to either get their acts together or get off the ground.
