53. One winter a bunch of us here donated money to help out DUers who were

having a hard time. The DUers who coordinated the effort actually drove to CO to try to give her the money and help in any other way they could. To locate her they sought the help of a priest or minister who worked with the homeless, but he cautioned them about her volatility and said that those who had tried to help her in the past had been furiously rejected.

They did catch up with her, but the meeting went very badly, and they left sad and discouraged that they had not been able to do anything to help her at all.
