Only speaking from my own experience, but when you have absolutists making demands that the candidate they want (who has no chance in Hell of getting elected state-wide) gets the nod or they take their ball and go home, pragmatists who see who actually has a politically possible chance of getting elected tear their hair out in frustration.

I have heard a lot of the same from those Dems in other states with a close split in the electorate.

You cannot always get what you want in a candidate, I'll take a 90% candidate voting my way over 100% of nothing every time.

But you just can't convince a True Believer that the perfect is the enemy of the good.

Not saying that is what happened in Texas, but their focus seems be entirely on the governors race.
