well when he was running for governor 1970 he was asked, documented, what about the then so-called 'negro vote'. He said he didn't need the 'negro' vote. Yeah I know all about this country's rich and continuing racism. Historical and present. Jimmy Carter was a racist. His southern culture demanded it, his constituency demanded it and no amount of lipstick on a pig will change my view. Yeah he's changed and gotten older also. Does not change what he was in the beginning of his political career. Someone mentioned what a christian man he was. Most southern christians historically backed slavery, and insisted on segregation including your revered carter. No, a person who held on to racist beliefs at any time in their life is still a racist to me. 'Changed' or not. All your 'links' mean nothing to me. I know what kind of person he was/is. Douglas? Lincoln? Who cares. I'm speaking of Carter only. Laugh all you want. Means nothing to me. I call bullshit to your response. JUST A FACT! Any person can observe what despicable characters republicans, these days since nixon/reagan, have been. I don't have to even mention them to state historical fact about carter. Oh and I never said he was the worst POTUS, or believe that. Bush was/is the all time leader of that pack. Carter was not in that pack. Historically, he had his problems when it came to racial issues and that is my only focus here. So has the Democratic Party and some democrats, still. Zimpigs trial comments on this board showed me that.. Obama, to me, rectified all past issues I had with the Democratic Party. And, by the way, lifelong democrat here, in spite of the problems my party had/has.
