The state of Texas sentenced McGruff the Crime Dog actor John R. Morales to 16 years in prison for possession of drugs and weapons.
After a traffic stop for speeding in 2011, police found blueprints for two marijuana-growing facilities on McGruff/Morales' front seat and marijuana seeds just in the trunk of his car.
During a subsequent search of Morales' home, officers found "1,000 marijuana plants, 27 weapons – including a grenade launcher, and 9,000 rounds of ammunition".
