I need a lot of funding; while I'm grateful to have work-work which (barely) keeps the electricity going and roof over my head, I can't continue to try to build community at Wishadoo in order to help as many souls as possible who have fallen through the cracks, take care of the site itself, etc. I can't continue to do both, the work-work and Wishadoo work.
I'm no different than many others. I'm singing an all-too-familiar tune.
I've worked toward trying to set Wishadoo up as a member-owned cooperative over the years, and it's very difficult to do that...mainly because it really hasn't been done yet and I don't have a reliable team with me in doing it, helping to raise awareness, etc. Most of the people who support what I'm doing are barely making ends meet themselves and one crisis makes them fall off the radar too easily, and I just don't have a reliable team to be able to set it up as a legal cooperative as I've dreamed of doing. Not yet, at least. I haven't given up.
I'm working on summarizing the bigger vision, and existing tools, to present to those who DO have funds, to help keep this vision afloat, including finally being able to pay the awesome IT people who have helped so far. That's where I am right now.
So, good vibes, well wishes and/or prayers? That would help.
And any connections to 2%'er types who want to be of true service to others and spread their wealth in a meaningful way without requiring one to jump through hoops and give them my firstborn, that would help, too. lol
Setting up yet another 501(c)3 in a sea of nonprofits isn't of interest to me either. It's very time-consuming and expensive, and just adds to the fragmentation all around. Partnering with an existing organization is something else I'm exploring though.
Again, thanks for thinking of me.
