(809 posts)37. Dear tblue37, You are preaching to the choir. (I'm not religious, either)
The Eldad videos are some of the most compelling stories ever posted to YouTube. Sadly, you are correct when you say there are people who criticize charity dollars going to animal welfare instead of humans. I'm with you. After splitting the money with my family, if I ever win the lottery, making Eldad a rich man would be first on my list. Imagine what he could do if he had the financial freedom to rescue full time, maybe he could train rescuers in every city.
I think there is no suffering that can compare to being in pain, starving, sick and afraid of everything with no way to understand any of it, no way to make a better future, no way to even imagine a better future
That's my two cents.

Yes, but for that it has to be a strong movement by the people, and unfortunately...

It is! It's almost shocking how dumb Americans have become. The GOP has done a great job

It is awful. Seniors are suffering, humans are suffering, their pets are suffering,

Back on the farm, if the vet bill was more than the animal would bring at sale, you didn't call.

There's a surplus of vets, so many are performing unnecessary tests/procedures.

There is a niche for Vets, to make house calls. One of my Vets is the newbie in a large group

I had my neighbor put in her will that I get her dog if anything happens to her.

This would be BY FAR my biggest concern if I was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
