I think very few can wrap their heads around. It can be somewhat daunting to think about. Thankfully it is as large as it is. If not we would truly be able to discuss it in terms of destruction with respect to our actions. Not that we aren't well on our way to that point, just the vastness dilutes and helps to clean our assault on it.

It's in tens of thousands of pieces, most of which is at the bottom of the Gulf Of Thailand.

The fuel slicks found in the vicinity are pretty clear indicators of a crash.
