I fear that we will be seeing a spate of "stand your ground" incidents. I know I was not aware of legislation allowing people to use lethal force for perceived threats and I'm betting there are lots of others who were not aware of them either. While I know that these laws need the scrutiny they are now receiving to expose their absurdity and danger, I worry that there are those who will now try to use them as an excuse for inexcusable actions.
I cannot imagine what it will take to diminish the influence of ALEC and the NRA, but it will not be easily accomplished.
I feel incredibly discouraged this morning.
