(106 posts)... is different from what your first link indicates. So, we can assume that identification with a religions could be as low as 15% and as high as 75%, but probably somewhere in between. The only truth shown from this mess of statistical analysis, seemingly all methodologically flawed, but possibly one is accurate, is that we can observe a definite upward trend in religious identification since the fall of the wall. I don't believe that going to church has no correlation with being religious - I'm from West Texas and went to church every Sunday because my dad was a music minister. Most of my friends went to church either a few times a year or not at all. The vast majority are rabidly right wing/tea party. I think, and please feel free to correct me if you think otherwise, the number of people who identify with that type of ideology is much more significant than the attendance numbers you are posting for this specific conversation.
