and Bales is sick as a result of PTSD. Bales four tours of duty-Manning one tour.

And Manning was suicidal before he did what he did and since he was suicidal, that may be why it is he did what he did figuring he would off himself rather than face consequences.

Look into PTSD and reoccuring dreams Vietnam error vetrans.

Heinous, yes, war is hell.
