Tracing the links of fascism through their various Euopean and American sympathizers is probably a lot like studying the Templars: there's a lot of information there, and probably some very interesting truths, but the subject is so crowded with crackpots, conspiracy theorists, and ideologues that sorting the wheat from the chaff must be challenging.

Fascism being the "logical" response to Communism, and Communism being such a feared movement among the ruling elites just about everywhere, I suspect that quite a few big names were fellow-travellers of the fascii. And much more dangerous than the kooks running around with swastikas on their arms today, who will never be more than cannon fodder and distractions.
