54. We Need A Reboot

The system is broken, big money has taken over. It's legalized bribery. Huge corporations have deeper pockets than almost all of us, so they get what they want a lot more than we do. Corruption rules, D.C and many statehouses are cesspools.

Right now republicans have gone maxi right wing, the democrats have morphed into what the republicans were. We do have real progressive democrats in congress, just not enough of them to influence much of where the DCCC lands politically, which tends to be republican lite.

Facilitating all this is a consolidated media and a public with way too many people misinformed or uninformed. Fox News, Limbaugh, etc. flat out lie and many people buy it.

Money needs to be eradicated from policy, public financing of elections is the way to go so nobody can buy their way into office, and no Koch head can spend billions to sway the less than correctly informed public.

Until that happens we should have legislators wear patches like Nascar drivers, showing the companies who they are beholden to.
