Just as the Blue Dogs are a faction within the Democratic Party. Under a parliamentary system, these broad coalitions of convenience that characterise American political parties would probably fracture into smaller parties. In such a situation it's more likely that hypothetical mainstream parties would work out a confidence and supply agreement with some not-crazy faction.
