Because I live with birds, dogs, a cat and a horse, and have had animals in my life most all my life, I KNOW how smart they are. Very, very smart. Smarter than most of the people I know, for sure.
How many people speak or understand *any* animal languages in their own language? Not many.

I don't know about parrots, but I read somewhere that chimps who have been taught sign language
