(9,126 posts)I am extremely tolerant to others' religion, often defending people of faith to family and friends. I have absolutely no problem with it. But anyone who uses their religion for marketing purposes is a signal that something shady is going on. It usually means the employees have to listen to some sanctimonious bullshit and their private lives are somehow being judged/restricted. I worked for Nordstrom through college and that was enough, thank you. "Family Values" is also another big red flag.
I have rarely met more dishonest business people than the ones who lectured me about how "Christian" they were. That bluster always is a cover for something. If you're an honest broker, it's pretty clear, you do not need to protest too much. Be more like Jimmy Carter, do your good works and don't advertise.
