e-mail just sent; "Shame on you. Shame on any of you who believe that it is right to take and confine animals for human amusement, and then decide to kill those animals when they're no longer cosmetically desirable, or become inconvenient. If you choose to capture, confine, and show them to people who don't realize how sick that is, the least you should do -- the very least -- is try to preserve them in health, decency, and safety. These elder female lions were killed solely for cosmetic reasons. The healthy cubs were killed only because you have sick, lazy minds in search of the easiest, cheapest solutions. Your 'zoo' is an Auschwitz for animals. How sad. How sick. Do not call yourselves humans. Humans have more decency. You do not represent my species, and you certainly do not deserve to be entrusted with any others. Those of you who made this decision, and those who supported it, should never be allowed near an animal: not even a worm.
