It's easy to assume that people who tell you things you want to hear-- particularly when they're the only one's saying it-- are somehow 'on your side'.

How many conservatives have posted Colbert pieces on their homepages, thinking he was on their side because he said something they wanted to hear (albeit, satirically)?
