The laws that protect the free exercise of religion do not merely protect the free exercise of rational religion. Even if it is crazy to think that communion wine is turned into blood, for example, taking communion in the belief that the wine will become blood is protected. The Court will look at whether Hobby Lobby sincerely believes for religious reasons that some contraception is murder. But whether that belief is true or rational is irrelevant.
