Jesus Wouldn’t Bake Gay Wedding Cake, Says Pat Robertson [View all]
Jesus wouldn't have baked a cake for a same-sex wedding because the couple would have been stoned to death before the ceremony could take place, says the televangelist.
Jesus is said to have turned water into wine at a (presumably) straight wedding but he wouldnt have baked a cake for a gay one because the betrothed couple would have been stoned to death before they could marry, says right-wing televangelist Pat Robertson.
Robertson made the remark today on The 700 Club, his long-running TV show, after a report on a baker in Colorado who was found guilty of antigay discrimination for refusing to supply a cake for a same-sex wedding.
I think you got to remember from the Bible, if you look carefully at the Bible, what would have happened in Jesus time if two men decided they wanted to cohabit together, they would have been stoned to death, Robertson said. So Jesus would not have baked them a wedding cake nor would he have made them a bed to sleep in because they wouldnt have been there.
LGBT people, Robertson added, have become the oppressors of those who hold deeply held religious points of view. He also said the devil is behind acceptance of homosexuality and abortion because both deny the reproduction of human species.
