(36,286 posts)21. I think worrying about this gives too much credit to criminals -
despite the elaborate schemes seen in programs like Law and Order, most people who commit crimes rarely think ahead and tend to do stupid things. The very occasional home invasions involving strangers get the headlines, but most involve some sort of drug deal gone wrong and/or theft from a drug distributor. Your best protection is not to be acquainted with people involved in the trade.
