It doesn't matter whether or not this bill exempts American citizens or not (and I think that portion of it is vague at best). This is an egregious violation of human rights and we should all be outraged that this was even proposed, much less on the President's desk awaiting his signature (which, apparently, he is now planning on signing even though he threatened a veto). So much for being that "beacon of liberty atop a hill called freedom" that Saint Ronnie talked about...when you fly in the face of the words of a conservative stalwart, you know you've jumped the shark. What is most apparent though, is the fact that we have, in fact, lost the "war on terror". We've allowed the threat of terrorism to change our fundamental way of life which was the terrorists' goal in the first place. This is really depressing and I'm very discouraged about the state of what's left of our Democracy (which is, essentially, in tatters).
