In reply to the discussion: Trayvon Martin was also suspended for graffiti, previously found with 12 pieces of women's jewlery [View all]Ken Burch
(50,254 posts)60. If the police didn't charge Trayvon, that makes a pretty strong case
that Trayvon didn't steal them(and an even stronger case that this is irrelevant).
Why are you dwelling on something that is utterly irrelevant to Trayvon's killing?

It might be relevant to a defense attorney trying to paint Trayvon in a negative light.

I'd say the likelihood Trayvon acted like a paranoid criminal is increased if he is a criminal.

Who do they return it to? Trayvon claimed he got it from a friend he refused to name.

As far as I know, the police can't return an item to someone who does not claim ownership of it.

It was In His Possession, Sir, And They Have No Reason To Say It Was Unlawfully So

Regardless of possession, it is my understanding he did not claim ownership of said item.

Since Trayvon didn't CLAIM ownership, it means nothing that the jewels weren't returned to him

I didn't claim to know anything more than the rings are silver and earrings diamond.

I'm clearly basing that claim off the police report, if it is wrong then I am wrong.

I directly quoted the newspaper. Other people challenged the paper and the paper's source.

The newspaper included the report, saying something about their belief in the validity of it.
