16. No reason for him to NOT be on the job after a shooting.

Post shooting, while the investigation is going on, I believe most cops are given a "desk" job, not allowed to be on the street. You can't fire them for the shooting until/unless an investigation is completed to show what happened.

In this case, the cop opening his mouth for his foot to be inserted may be a good thing.
It certainly is not going to help his case.

And hopefully the NOPD is by now very very sensitive to issues of police brutality.
In fact, they may still be under Federal watchdog...I am not sure if that is continuing.
