In reply to the discussion: Florida Weighs Bill That Would Crush Craft Brewers [View all]LynneSin
(95,337 posts)9. Here's who sponsered the House version of the bill and how much money he got from Lobbyists
I know what Craft Breweries are - they are small businesses and great businesses for the state. Here in Delaware, Dogfish Head Brewery of Milton, DE is a must-stop destination for those visitng our beaches.
So this is the douchebag that wants to squash small business owners in Florida with this bill that would prevent Craft Brewers from selling their products directly from where they were made. To sell the product they would have to pay a distributer a 30-40% mark-up even if the beer in question NEVER ACTUALLY LEFT THE BREWERY.

Since the story was released about H.B. 1329, the craft brewery killing bill that has many local breweries upset, a new month of contributions has been reported by Ray Rodrigues to the Florida Secretary of State Division of Elections.
$2000: from Pepin Thomas, and Pepin Thomas Distributing, listed February 1, 2014.
$500: from Coastal Beverage, listed February 24, 2014.
$500: from Gold Coast Beverage Distributors o February 26, 2014.
$500: from Florida Beer Wholesalers Good Government on February 27,2014.
Rodrigues had previously received at least $1500, as listed in a previous article.
The Pepin Thomas contribution appears to be from the owner ($1000) and the company ($1000) on the same day.
I hate math but I figure $5000 bucks so far, that Im aware of. Plus, another $500 from a linked source (AT&T, same lobbyist, Ron Book, but possibly unrelated

Not only in Florida. Sounds just like the laws car dealerships have gotten passed.
