19. BS scare tactics. Whoever is sending those emails is trying to get you to spend money for nothing.

MSE will still update for another year and some. Other antivirus programs will still work. Hell, you can still get AVG to work on Windows 2000.
The main way to avoid problems is to NOT use Internet ExploDer.
