Laugh if you need to, but the State of Minnesota ran pretty well under his governorship,
and he gave some lasting gifts to The People, like Light Rail in the Twin Cities,
for which he was excoriated by BOTH major parties.

He was followed by Republican Norm Coleman who instituted his Republican brand of Austerity,
cutting services (like the DMV, DNR, etc.) to the bone, closed satellite offices, and fired the employees.
Most of the citizens of the Twin Cities said they wished Jesse was back.

On a practical side, he recognized his limitations.
Instead of Party Cronies, he hired real management experts to run the state while he was out getting Face Time in front of the cameras, and that was good for Minnesota.
I enjoyed having a Governor that "owed" NOTHING to either major party,
and was free to Speak his Mind.

The raw material he provided for anyone in the Professional Entertainment Industry in the Twin Cities (I was),
Jesse provided tons of raw material. EVERYBODY had their Jesse impersonations that were good for hours of laughter.

The man IS much smarter that the one he plays in front of the TV Cameras.
It is a mistake to underestimate his intelligence.
I LIKE Jesse Ventura,
and viable 3rd Parties are GOOD for Democracy.

I would take Jesse again over any Republican Governor,
and over about 1/2 of the Democratic Governors.
