The racial makeup of the county was 55.0% White, 36.9% Black or African American, 0.3% Native American, 2.9% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 2.4% from other races, and 2.4% from two or more races. 5.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
