In reply to the discussion: How would you all feel about a Clinton/O'Malley ticket in 2016? [View all]Tommy_Carcetti
(44,601 posts)46. I think Hillary means it when she is going to retire, but.....
.....I love the idea of Martin O'Malley being on the 2016, whether it be top or bottom.
But I don't think Hillary's going to run. Between her and Bill, I don't think there are two people with a more impressive list of accomplishments and I think they've probably reached the apex. Bill will be doing his thing worldwide, and Hillary will be over 70, I believe. Perhaps Chelsea will be a mom by then and maybe Hillary might want to just enjoy sitting back and being a grandparent. But I don't know.
But yes definitely to O'Malley. Maryland has avoided the worst of the Great Recession thanks to O'Malley's policies, and Maryland has arguably the best public education system in the state. Plus the guy is a rock star. Literally. A rock star.

I think Warren be would be better served in the Senate for a couple of years, a great ally. Also,

Well, O'Malley as Governor is good. But he's not from a big state, though. A lot of influence, true,

Progressive Dem Governor of Maryland. He's smart and he's attractive. I saw him get into it

The only reason I put her in the VP slot is the old Governors are better meme. But that didn't stop

Clinton for the WIN factor and name recognition, O'Malley to keep her left-minded during presidency.
