The NRA & GOP need to wake up and realize that George Zimmerman isn't their posterboy for SYG [View all]

Watched a bunch of news tonight both at the gym and when I got home later tonight and it really does seem like they're trying to make George Zimmerman seem like he was totally justified in shooting 17 year old Trayvon Martin.

But the more I saw about Zimmerman and the more I read about him - the GOP, NRA and other gun activists need to back off and just let this one go. The right-wing media is so desperately trying to make Zimmerman out to be the victim and it's just not working. Zimmerman has 100lbs on Martin AND remember he also had his car nearby. Zimmerman has a history of violence with both a domestic violence & police abuse record against him. He has had a repeated history of contacting 911 repeatedly over what he deemed was 'suspect'. And Zimmerman was NOT an official neighborhood watchperson for that community - plus if he was he was breaking the rules by bringing a gun with him. The 2 damning calls - the call he made to 911 where they told him to back away plus the last call Trayvon made to his friend and now the lead investigator comes out and said they had the evidence to prosecute Zimmerman but was told to back away.

I know these right-wing folks want to prove that "Stand Your Ground" laws work but this is just not the guy to do it with. The best thing the right-wing media can do is just stop defending Zimmerman and let nature take it's course with this case. It only makes them look stupid for defending what will, at a minimum, come out as a manslaughter and what might end up being a hate crime murder.
