And, just because the hate mail uses uses the word "nigger," that in and of itself is certainly no indication that the person who wrote that is racist or anything. If you say it does, you're just avoiding the discussion and trying to wriggle out of the crushing grip of their superior reason by derailing things by introducing the topic of racism.

At least, that's what I think Jonathan Chait has been trying to say for the last couple of weeks. No, it doesn't make any sense.
